Layerpop template

According to “Better Ads Experience Program” starting on February 15, 2018, Google Chrome is blocking ads on websites that do not meet the requirements set by the Coalition for Better Ads (CBA). The current list of prohibited ads can be found on the CBA's website (https://www.betterads.org/standards/).

The layerpop template creates a centered layer on top of the website while the rest of the site is dimmed (the level of opacity can be graduated). It is possible to set a time limit to the pop, so it automatically disappears after a period of time. The layerpop is delivered through an existing content unit.

2 campaigns have to be booked to book a layerpop.

Campaign no. 1

This campaign contains the creative material. Book this campaign with a priority which allows constant access e.g. available impressions and with an unlimited number of impressions. The campaign should have the correct dimensions corresponding to the creative material. The content unit booked should not contain any other campaigns. We recommend generating content units for the sole purpose of booking layerpops, one for each layerpop. These content units must not be implemented in the source of the site. The period should coincide with the campaign period or be longer than the campaign period. The campaign must not have any targeting (such as frequency, keywords etc.). Please book in this campaign the creative material you wish to use in the layerpop. Book the material with the corresponding template e.g. a swf-file with the template shockwave flash. Note the content unit id.

Campaign no. 2

This campaign launches the layerpop on the site. Book this campaign with the correct number of impressions, the correct priority, the corresponding period and targeting. The placement used should be a 1×1 javascript content unit, which has to be implemented in the source of the site. The dimension of the campaign can be 1×1 as well, as the correct size will be defined in the template. Book the layerpop with the template ‘layerpop’ under ‘Add using serverside template’. For this booking you will need the content unit id used in campaign no. 1. Campaign no. 1 must be active to display the creative material in the layerpop (otherwise the layerpop will be empty). The preview function does not work for this template.
